As part of the company’s total commitment to sustainability, Unilever Philippines is piloting its first refilling station for its top haircare brands – Cream Silk, Sunsilk, Dove and TRESemmé.
A new way to get your favorite shampoo and conditioner, the All Things Hair Refillery was stationed in three Ayala Malls this its pilot run. By simply bringing an old shampoo or conditioner bottle to the nearest station, consumers can top up on the haircare product of choice.
“As part of our commitment to reduce environmental impact under the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan, we launched the All Things Hair Refillery to provide our consumers with an alternative way to get our products,” says Dorothy Dee-Ching, Unilever Philippines’ Vice President for Beauty and Personal Care. “With the All Things Hair Refillery, you can bring your empty shampoo or conditioner bottles and refill them with our best-selling haircare brands.”
Customers were even able to secure discounts for their preferred shampoo or conditioner. They only had to bring their own empty bottle, and simply pay for the weight of the product restocked. In case a matching bottle was not on hand, a 100% recyclable bottle from the Refillery was available in exchange for non-matching bottles.
As an additional offering for eco-friendly shoppers—old plastic bottles that they want to dispose were left at the All Things Hair Refillery Station, and Unilever Philippines took care of collection and upcycling with its partners.
“This is just the beginning,” Dee-Ching adds. “We hope to be able to roll out the Refillery in more areas in the Philippines, as well as extend it to our other brands.”
The All Things Hair Refillery Station pilot ran in March -April 2019 in Trinoma, Glorietta 3, and Alabang Town Center.
