PARMS declares Zero Waste to Nature: Ambition 2030
The Philippine Alliance for Recycling and Materials Sustainability (PARMS) has gone public with Zero Waste to Nature: Ambition 2030—a declaration of commitment by global and local manufacturers, together with plastic producers, recyclers, and other members of the waste value chain, to initiate and support efforts to reduce and collect waste, in line with the 2025 sustainable packaging commitments of some global brands while adhering to science and local economics.
The declaration was communicated in separate events organized by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the office of Senator Cynthia Villar to commemorate the creation of the task force to clean up the Manila Bay.
In the next months, PARMS will organize multi-stakeholder workshops that will draw out plans for short-term, mid-term, and long-term, collaborative solutions towards Zero Waste.
Unilever Philippines is an active member of PARMS, along with other top FMCGs in the country, in its effort to accelerate joint action. PARMS is a multi-stakeholder coalition anchored on developing and implementing a holistic and comprehensive program to increase resource recovery and reduce landfill dependence, leading towards a zero waste Philippines.
