August 20, 2020 - Manila, Philippines—Consistent with our drive to “Win with Purpose”, Unilever Philippines seeks to build meaningful partnerships that support Filipino livelihoods and promote health and hygiene, especially during this period.

In collaboration with Grab Philippines, we are raising the bar of safety and hygiene in the food delivery industry with the launch of Safer Meals Philippines. Officially announced through a virtual launch, the Safer Meals Philippines campaign aims to improve the food delivery industry’s existing safety and hygiene standards - from food preparation, handling, and up to delivery.

“Keeping our communities safe is core to everything we do at Grab, and we are fortunate to find a partner in Unilever that shares this philosophy and be able to make a difference through our Safer Meals Philippines campaign. We believe that by working with Unilever to raise the bar of safety and hygiene in the food delivery industry - apart from providing safer meals to our customers, we continue to protect the lives and support the livelihoods of the many communities who depend on us in these trying times,” says EJ Dela Vega, GrabFood Philippines Head.

To ensure the utmost safety and hygiene at every stage of the food delivery life cycle, Unilever will be providing GrabFood merchant partners and delivery partners with hygiene kits, which includes the newly launched Lifebuoy sanitizer and Cif multi-purpose cleaner, for use by the partners in their respective restaurants or stores, whether for quick personal sanitation by staff members and drivers, or deep cleaning protocols within the establishment.

“Building trust across communities and consumers is a way to move forward from the challenging situation that we’re all facing right now. With our well-loved and effective hygiene and sanitation brands like Lifebuoy and Cif, we hope that families and individuals continue to trust and rely on the safe meal delivery services of Grab Philippines,” shares Ed Sunico, Unilever’s VP for Communications, Southeast Asia

This campaign is also aligned with Unilever’s Malasakit for All, a local response covering support for our employees, partners, and communities launched in March. Among the initiatives included are provision of hygiene relief packs and medical supplies to hospitals, NGOs, and affected groups nationwide.

In meaningful collaboration with Grab, Unilever rolls out “Safer Meals Philippines”, a campaign that aims to raise safety and hygiene standards in the food delivery industry. Hygiene kits and safety training will be provided to merchant-partners and delivery-partners to ensure cleanliness from food preparation to delivery.
